It had a great adventure storyline but the adventure part stayed small and didn’t bog down the love story. The second book in a series can focus more on the main characters, their challenges and their romance and have better flow. It’s inevitable really, as the first book in a series is usually bogged down with world building and developing multiple side characters and that can cause a book to drag or pull focus from the story. I liked this one even better than the last one. (I’d recommend reading the series in order.) Kimberly Lemming created something fuckin’ wonderful and warm with this fantasy romance series. “Who abandoned you sweetheart?
